The Santa Fe Wolves are on the road this week as they travel south to play the Norman North Timberwolves. Last week, the Wolves (1-7, 0-5) lost their fifth district game against the Lawton Wolverines, 31-6. The Timberwolves (4-3, 2-3) are coming off last week's road loss to the Southmoore Sabercats, 38-23.
The Timberwolves offense is averaging 330 yards (181 rushing / 149 passing) and 30 points per game. Junior quarterback Brad Valentino leads their offense and has completed 82 of 141 passes for 1,094 yards with 9 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Valentino's primary receivers include senior Scott Whitaker with 278 yards on 19 receptions (2 TD); junior Dan Davis with 253 yards on 12 receptions (2 TD), senior Jamar Harrison with 231 yards on 22 receptions (3 TD) and senior Nick Caravan with 166 yards on 10 receptions (2 TD).
The Timberwolves rushing attack is carried by senior Richard Peoples, senior Jamar Harrison and junior Raymond Demby. Peoples gets the bulk of the carries and has 764 yards on 97 carries (4 TD) for a 7.88 yard average per carry; Harrison has 193 yards on 40 carries (3 TD) for a 4.83 yard avg per carry and Demby has 171 yards rushing on 20 carries (1 TD) for 8.55 yard average per carry.
The Timberwolves defense is allowing 263 yards (113 rushing / 150 passing) and 21 points per game. The Timberwolves leading tacklers are senior Nick Caravan with 58 tackles (1 sack and 2 INT), senior Brendan Brown with 57 tackles (2 INT), junior Dan Davis with 56 tackles (6 sacks and 1 INT), junior Daniel Moses with 56 tackles (2 sacks and 1 INT) and senior Jon Johnson with 53 tackles (1 sack and 1 INT).
Senior Collin Yeary has made 5 of 8 field goals (42-yard longest) and 19 PAT. Junior Dan Davis also handles the Timberwolves punting duties with 32 punts and a 36.2-yard average. |
